Our emotions can cause all sorts of physical and mental ailments. When we heal emotionally it allows us to heal on all levels.

There are many ways to heal emotionally.

Meditation

Meditation is probably the most widely used healing technique. They are now teaching it in hospitals and schools.

People think meditation must be done a specific way, but that is far from the truth. Since my daughter was critically ill most of her life, I had to learn to meditate standing by her hospital bed.

Meditation is simply relaxing our body and mind. There are many ways we can do this. Many people use music. Listening to something that is calm, and soothing will put us into a state of hypnosis.

There are many types of music that can be used for meditation.

Many people like Binaural Beats, which are supposed to move you quickly into a deep meditation. They do not work for everyone, though. They have the opposite effect on me, so I cannot listen to them.

Solfeggio Frequencies can be used. I listen to a lot of these on YouTube. There are different ones for love, healing, manifesting, etc. If you don’t like the music with one frequency, try another artist. Some are better than others.

Some of my favorite music for meditating is:

  • Chakra Suite by Steven Halpern is my very favorite music. I often go to sleep with it playing. 
  • No Blue Thing by Ray Lynch brings back happy memories with my daughter. 
  • Sacred Spirit is relaxing Native American chants and music. 
  • Carlos Nakai Native American Flute. 

I learned meditation through a technique by Jose Silva.

You simply get in a comfortable position and breathe deeply and slowly. As you do so, count down from 100. If your mind wanders and you lose your place, simply start again. You probably will never make it to 0 but you will manage a deep meditation.

The more you meditate, the easier it is to reach that state next time.

Breathing Deeply

Just simply remembering to take a deep breath helps us to relax and brings us back into the Now.

We tend to hold our breath or breathe very shallowly when we are stressed. This causes us to be even more stressed. It also restricts the oxygen to our brain, so we cannot think clearly.

When we are stressed, we are anxious about the future. Taking a deep breath will bring us back to the present and help us to think more clearly.

Remember to take a lot of deep breaths so you can release congested energy and emotions.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is good to use along with deep breathing and meditation. It can include sage, 16 Ways To Heal Emotionally by Claudia McNeelyincense, or essential oils. Most people think of essential oils when Aromatherapy is mentioned.

It can help to heal our negative thoughts and emotions which allows us to heal physically and emotionally. There are many essential oils from many different companies. Be sure you are getting a quality brand.

You can put the essential oils in a diffuser, put it in your bath, use it for massage, or on your body.

Lavender is my very favorite scent. Taking a sniff of it will relax me immediately. It is used to help to relieve anxiety, mood swings, nervous tension, insomnia, headaches, and depression. Because of this, it is the most popular essential oil. 

Frankincense is another favorite of mine. I used it a lot with my daughter because it causes you take a deep breath. It helps to reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and insomnia. It is also beneficial for memory, focusing, and concentration. 

Rose helps to reduce stress, anxiety, worry, and headaches. It calms our nervous system. It also helps to balance hormones.

Chamomile helps with anxiety, stress, and insomnia. It soothes and calms the nervous system.

Lemon Balm, also known as Melissa, is good to use for anxiety, fear, nervousness, depression, anger, irritability, and grief. 

Clary Sage is considered a nerve tonic. It helps with stress and anxiety. 

Bergamot will boost your mood and help you to have more confidence. It also helps with stress, anxiety, and depression. 

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is very beneficial for emotional healing. After my daughter died, I had the 16 Ways To Heal Emotionally by Claudia McNeelyopportunity to join a group having ear acupuncture. My ear started bleeding at the point for grief. That sold me on the validity of acupuncture. Even though bleeding can be scary, it definitely helped to relieve a lot of my grief.

Normally, the needles are placed on specific points on the body. The needles do not hurt since they barely enter the body. They cannot be inserted too far thanks to the way they are made. It is not painful but is very healing for mental and physical issues.

Crystals

Hematite is my favorite stone for stress and grief. I always carried a stone in my pocket. It absorbs negative energy, stress, and worry. I cleansed it under running water several times a day. It helps to ground us to the calming energies of the Earth.

Amethyst is a very popular stone. It is referred to as ‘Nature’s Tranquilizer’ because it is beneficial for stress and anxiety. It calms and soothes the nervous system. Amethyst helps you to understand why you have certain emotions. It also helps with addictions. Yes, we can be addicted to negative emotions.

Lepidolite has lithium in it which makes it perfect for healing your emotions. It helps you to be calm even when you are surrounded by chaos.

Moonstone is calming and soothing. Rainbow Moonstone is one of my favorites. It helps you to love yourself more. It helps with anxiety, stress, worry, and depression.

Charoite is another of my favorite stones. It brings you back to the present and helps you to know how to move forward. It releases negativity, stress, fear, and depression.

Energy Healing/Reiki

Reiki is simply a form of energy healing. Many people believe that if you are not trained in 16 Ways To Heal Emotionally by Claudia McNeelyReiki, you cannot do energy healing. This is not true.

We are all natural energy healers. What is the first thing you do when you hit your elbow or head? You put your hand on it. This is to give it healing energy.

Holy Basil is like a meditation in a cup. It is good for anxiety, stress, grief, and hormones.

Flower essences are made by transferring the energy of a plant into liquid, usually water and alcohol. You use them by dropping them under your tongue or putting a few drops in a glass of water to drink through the day. They help to gently heal emotions and issues. I use a lot of Flower Essences in my work with my clients.

Bach Flower Essences are the most well-known. There are 40 to choose from, each helping with a different emotional issue. The most popular is Rescue Remedy. 

FES – Flower Essence Society is another well-known brand. 

Nature

My daughter was born profoundly retarded as the result of a car accident while I was pregnant with her. Forgiving the person who hit us and God for allowing it to happen was very difficult. It took me several years to finally reach forgiveness. Once I did though, it changed my life.

We need to forgive the other person, ourselves since we co-created it, God because we have been taught that he is responsible for everything that happens to us, and our higher self.

Do yourself a big favor and forgive so you have more of your energy for yourself.

Laughter
