Mercury retrograde occurs several times a year. Sometimes we breeze through it, but other times it kicks our butts. (I had to replace a laptop with each retrograde a few years ago.)
As with all Mercury retrograde periods, we must be careful where communication is concerned. Our words can be misunderstood, or 
we may blurt out something we wish we hadn’t. I always enjoy watching the communications on social networks during these periods, and all the disagreements and arguments that happen. Think very carefully before you respond to a post. I have written many comments, only to erase it and move on, so I don’t hurt someone’s feelings. This is a good practice for the next few weeks.
Be sure your computer and cell phone is backed up. Electronics always take a beating from Mercury retrograde. Your car and appliances could break down, too.
Travel plans may not work out, traffic may be worse than normal, so take a deep breath and flow with it. Leave a few minutes early in case there are delays.
Nothing you plan will work out as you think, so be open to things changing.
This retrograde will be in the fire sign of Aries, which will make it stronger than normal. (Actually, all the retrogrades this year will be in fire signs.) We are going to be faced with some big lessons and big choices. Where do we want to go? Who do we want in our lives, etc.
Our buttons will be pushed big time, which is necessary for us to move into the future that we want. The Universe is letting us know that we cannot waste any more time on people or things, because our future is here now.
Aires is very confident, often too confident. We must be very careful not to allow our confidence to get us into trouble. Those who lack confidence will be forced to be more confident and trusting. Be careful not to allow your ego to cause you to do something that you will regret, or harm a relationship.
This first weekend will be rough, thanks to the Solar Winds that are expected to arrive, and Saturn, which is all about karma. People from you past may return to your life to finish unfinished business.
This Mercury retrograde is also playing out on the world stage. The US government is going through chaos right now, with President Trump firing people for leaking information, conspiring against him and his administration, lying to Congress, etc. This is coming to a head quickly, and a lot will happen in the next few weeks.
This will be a chaotic, irritating, exciting few weeks. Remember to breathe and flow with whatever pops up. This chaos is necessary to lead us to our future and the New World we have all dreamed of.
