Quick update before I leave for an appointment.
The Coronal Mass Ejections from the X Class Flares have been very weak. Solar Winds are high normal but the CMEs have caused Geomagnetic Instability which is about to become a Geomagnetic Storm. The Sun is quiet at the moment. There was a 5.5 Earthquake in Vanuatu and 5.6 on the Central East Pacific Rise.
Hurricane Milton is strengthening in the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to reach a Category 5 before it hits Florida. I don’t think there has ever been a Category 5 before. Join me in imagining icebergs being thrown into the middle of it to cool it off. They generate these storms with heat and cooling them off will reduce the intensity.
