Thank You Amy Winehouse

The recent death of Amy Winehouse brings the consequence of addiction into the public eye once again. Many movie and music starsThank You Amy Winehouse by Claudia McNeely have brought this to our attention over the years – Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Anna Nicole Smith and many others. Amy is only another in this long line of Beings who have given their lives to assist humanity in learning to love ourselves.

Too many of us do not love ourselves. We do not treat ourselves in loving ways. We abuse our bodies through drugs, alcohol, food and relationships. We don’t love ourselves enough to treat our body’s as the temples that they are.

Instead, we prefer to see ourselves as victims, as Beings who have no choice. We give our power away to people and substances that make us feel better, that help us for a moment to forget that we don’t love ourselves.

How can we love ourselves when we forget that we are perfect? How can we love ourselves when we forget that we chose this life? How can we love ourselves when we have given our power away?

Our Soul is perfect in every way. It chose to experience this life on Earth because it wanted to have experiences that can only be experienced on this planet. It wanted to be here to assist other souls to learn lessons as it learned it’s own lessons.

We are all in this life together. We see ourselves as being separate, but in reality we are all one, we are all part of the whole. We are all here to help each other to learn lessons and to grow.

But, once we get here, we forget this perfection. We forget why we are here. We begin to see ourselves as less than perfect. We begin to see ourselves as victims, our lives controlled by others with no choices of our own. We feel unloved and unlovable. We feel we are less than others. We see no point to it all.

The beautiful Soul that was Amy Winehouse had a beautiful, angelic voice. She came into this life to share that gift with the world. Somewhere along the way, she forgot how perfect she was, how special she was. As a result, she got lost in addiction in an attempt to kill the pain of separation that she felt. Because of the pain and addiction, this beautiful voice has been stilled.

Amy gave her life to help us see what happens when we don’t love ourselves, when we forget how perfect we are. Don’t let her sacrifice be in vain. Accept her gift to humanity and learn to love yourself, learn to love your body and treat yourself with love.

Stop being a victim and take control of your life.
